It only takes one time seeing GI Magus hit stage to know, this guy has something different. He has a style all his own. From his clean cut stage appearance to his energy dominates every stage, G.I. has been captivating audiences for over a decade. Blending thought-provoking concepts, masterful and witty lyrics with flawless lyrical delivery and high energy, G.I. has become known for his commitment to maintaining a standard of lyricism and creativity.

He started his musical career as a part of the Birmingham super group Battle C.A.T.S.  After years of award winning performances and mixtape releases, G.I. struck out on his own in 2012.  Since becoming a solo artist, he has released multiple mixtapes, EPs, and albums. He is continuing the tradition of lyrical giants coming from the South.

Whether he is rocking the stage to tracks or joined by a band, G.I. brings nonstop energy and interaction to crowds ranging from youth to adults in churches and clubs and events. He has continued to bring passion and positive messages to every crowd he engages. In 2013, G.I. decided to take on the taboo conversation in his community surrounding depression and suicide with his release of his video “Overcome“. He followed that up with conversations about race and equality and was honored to be a part of Birmingham’s “50 Years Forward” celebration and BET Centric’s celebration concert in Selma, AL, opening for a host of celebrity performers.

In 2015, G.I. decided to turn his focus more towards the next generation. He set out to create a sound track to inspire future leaders. G.I. release his EP, Stand Apart that gave a message of inspiration and empowerment. With messages centered around being unique and joining together with other leaders to create a better tomorrow, the Stand Apart EP shows why G.I. has become known for being a messenger of hope.

This is really just the beginning. G.I. Magus plans to continue to push the envelop and create art that challenges the listener and brings, increasingly seldom heard, positive messages to the genre.
